Complete program for the Fête nationale du Québec in Sutton “Célébrons sous le Guy!
On Wednesday, June 24, the Town of Sutton invites you to celebrate Quebec's Fête nationale in style, from 1 to 10 p.m. in Goyette-Hill Park, under the national theme of the 75th anniversary of the birth of Guy Lafleur. We are proud to present the full program for a day that promises to be as festive and unifying as all the previous ones!
After unveiling a particularly electrifying musical program on May 29, the organizing committee has spared no effort for the rest of the day. Composed of the winning trio of the Recreation, Community Life and Culture Department, the Corporation de développement économique de Sutton (CDES) and the cultural organization Sutton Encore, the committee is proposing to “celebrate Guy”, a day of family activities and a musical “game” spread over 3 periods, punctuated with great discoveries and leaving no one benched.
Hockey references
For the 2026 edition of the Fête nationale du Québec, the commemorative theme honors the 75th anniversary of the birth of Guy Lafleur, a key figure in our collective memory and a Quebec ice hockey legend. This choice is in keeping with the recent adoption of the Act recognizing ice hockey as Quebec’s national sport. And our hockey references will get you in the game!
Family activities at Goyette-Hill Park
For the enjoyment of children and adults alike, a lively family zone is planned on site. Children and their families can enjoy a host of activities from 1 pm to 6 pm:
- from 1 pm to 8 p.m., the swimming pool and splash pad will be open;
- from 1 pm to 4 p.m., a 9-hole mini-putt course for families and friends;
- from 1 to 4 p.m., friendly competitions will be organized by our municipal day camp counsellors;
- from 1 to 4 p.m., an inflatable game (course-style) will be available near the gazebo;
- From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., face painting will be offered to children and adults alike.
At 5:15 p.m., there will be the ceremonial raising of the flag and the official speeches by the mayor, councillors and members of the administration.
Evening musical entertainment and fireworks
The Sutton Encore organization and its director, Vanessa Lauzon, have been mandated to concoct an evening of French-language music with a country and electronica flavour that will set the crowd on fire!
- from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., 1st period, Georges Ouel.
- from 6.45pm to 7.45 p.m., 2nd period, Spaghatt.

The Bunker Room Bar will serve beer and non-alcoholic beverages. The Sutton IGA will be serving healthy meals of sandwiches and crudités, and the Microbrasserie Auberge Sutton Brouërie will be on site with its local beer and one of its house specialties.

Practical information
Wear your colors!
To celebrate the theme in style, we invite you to don the colors of the Fête nationale or your Montreal Canadiens jersey: the perfect opportunity to wear your No. 10!. You can also rock your Quebec Nordiques cap, a team Guy Lafleur played for.
For your comfort
- We recommend that you don’t come by car, if you can: prefer active transport – on foot, by bike or on a scooter – and, if you absolutely must come by car, carpool!

Reminder: the Town of Sutton is a certified Blue Community. This means that no plastic water bottles may be sold on the Fête nationale du Québec site.
