Plaisirs d’hiver 2021

Plaisirs d’hiver (Winter pleasures) is an event that aims to offer winter activities to the citizens of Sutton.
This year, the Town of Sutton wishes to offer winter-themed activities online as well as encourage individual and family outdoor activities by offering places and times for them.
Plaisirs d’hiver will take place from February 5 to 12, 2021.

Saturday February 6,2021	9 a.m. – noon	Writing workshop: La beauté est dans les petites choses (French) I want to subscribe	Jonathan Harnois	Adults (16 years old and over) Max 20	Materials required: Paper and pencil As Georges Simenon said, “a ray of sunlight on a nose is as important as a deep thought”, this workshop aims to awaken the consciousness of participants to the idea that the life of a text resides in the details that compose it. When we create a text, it is at the service of this art of detail that we put our sensitivity and our spirit of synthesis. Three simple but edifying exercises – Chinese portrait, inventory like Sei Shonagon and poetic assemblage like Léopold Sédar Senghor – help the participants to go beyond reflection by entering into the experience.

From February 8 to 12, 2021		Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS)	N/A	Sutton Residents	In partnership with the Town of Sutton, Plaisirs d’hiver event, PENS will offer free access to its facilities for Sutton residents (have proof of residence in hand) from February 8 to 12 2021. This initiative is a continuation of the free offer already available for children attending school in Sutton.

Snow sculptures competition

The winners of Plaisirs d’hiver snow sculptures competition organized by the Town of Sutton will be announced on February 5 (7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).

Prizes to be won:

• 1st place: Relaxation massage at Auberge West-Brome
• 2nd place: One day admission to Mont Sutton
• 3rd place: Gift card

Also, participants may see their sculpture used as the official image of Plaisirs d’hiver 2022.

Public voting is underway on the Town of Sutton’s Facebook page until February 3rd, 2021.
