Government grant to cover costs related to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic

In accordance with the Government of Quebec’s announcement on September 29, the Town of Sutton will receive an amount of $361,217 in financial assistance granted to municipalities for 2020 and 2021 in order to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic on their finances. A first payment of $248,337 will be made in December 2020 with the balance will be paid before March 31, 2021.

The Town can use this aid at its convenience by the end of 2021 to compensate for its lost revenue, as well as the additional costs it will have incurred in complying its services with health measures. These exceptional expenses already amount to more than $140,000.
