Intervention at Mont Sutton

Sutton, January 11, 2018 – Following an accidental spill of a limited amount of diesel at the facilities of Mont Sutton ski centre, the Town of Sutton wishes to reassure its population that an immediate follow-up took place today and that the drinking water supply system is not affected in any way.

The Town of Sutton was informed of the leak this morning. The leak has been contained by a specialized firm mandated by the ski center. Decontamination operations are currently in progress and a follow-up will be carried out until the situation is fully resolved. The municipality is working closely with Mont Sutton and the ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MDDELCC) to ensure that all measures required are taken for the health and safety of the population as well as for the protection of the environment.
