What will you do?
Under the supervision of the Director of Public Works and Fixed Assets, the Project Manager will be responsible for assisting and advising the Director in the planning, organization, coordination and control of all departmental programs and projects. He or she will lead the projects entrusted to him or her and control the budgets.
More specifically, this position will have the following responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and supervise the realization of infrastructure and civil engineering projects, from the preliminary study to the realization, and the rehabilitation of urban and municipal infrastructures (buildings, parks and green spaces, roads, various infrastructures);
- Assist his superior in the planning of short, medium and long term infrastructure works, in the collection of data inherent to the projects and in the specification of the works;
- Participate in the development of maintenance programs for municipal services and improvements to municipal properties;
- Participate in the updating of municipal infrastructure information banks;
- Participate in the design, costing, monitoring and implementation of municipal projects;
- Conduct research, carry out studies, write reports, develop solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders;
- Monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with contractual clauses and technical requirements;
- Participate in the development and reform of municipal by-laws.

Who are we looking for?
To fulfill the requirements of the position, you must:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering with 2 years of experience or a College Diploma (DEC) in Civil Engineering with 5 years of experience in a similar position;
- Experience in project management;
- Experience in a municipal environment (an asset);
- Master the Office suite and have an intermediate knowledge of geographic information systems (QGIS) and computer aided drawing software (Auto Cad or others);
- Possess a valid driver’s license;
- Fluency in spoken and written French and a good knowledge of spoken and written English;
- Attestation of general health and safety course on construction sites or commitment to obtain it;
- Be an autonomous, organized, rigorous, structured person and able to manage several files simultaneously;
- Demonstrate practical judgment, initiative and the ability to analyze various problems;
- Demonstrate excellent listening and synthesis skills;
- Ability to effectively communicate expertise;
- Ability to work in a team environment.
What are your benefits?
Salary and benefits for the position are governed by the current executive employee policy, which is outlined below:
- Permanent, full-time position, 40 hours/week (flexible hours and occasional telecommuting available) ;
- Annual vacations according to the current policy for management employees;
- Summer schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from May to October;
- 14 paid holidays per year and a bank of 10 sick days;
- Group insurance and pension benefits;
- Competitive hourly wage starting at $44.10 per hour.
