Located in the Brome-Missisquoi MRC, in Estrie, the Town of Sutton is a charming municipality of over 4,500 permanent residents and 4,000 vacationers. What will you do?
Under the authority of the Director of Urbanism and Land-Use Planning, you will be responsible for performing the duties necessary to greet visitors and support the Urban Planning department.
More specifically, this position will have the following responsibilities:
- Greet visitors and direct them to the right resources when needed;
- Answer the phone and redirect calls;
- Take messages and relay them promptly;
- Inform and assist citizens with procedures for obtaining permits, certificates of authorization and other similar documents related to the Urban and Land-Use Planning department;
- Book meeting rooms for the Urban Planning and Treasury departments;
- Assist the Urban Planning and Land-Use department in all other related tasks;
- Provide information available at the front desk (e.g., brochures, etc.), make sure that the materiel are kept up to date and redirect to the appropriate contact person if needed;
- Collect payments at the counter, make receipts and prepare deposits;
- Collect and send mail;
- Receive parcels and notify the appropriate persons;
- Order office supplies for the entire administration;
- Do filing;
- Perform all other related duties, including administrative support to other departments.

Who are we looking for?
To fulfill the requirements of the position, you must:
- Hold a DEP in secretarial studies or any other training deemed equivalent;
- Excellent customer service skills and resourcefulness;
- Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience;
- Be fluent in French and English, both orally and in writing;
- Have excellent command of the usual Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint);
- An asset: knowledge of Urban Planning;
- An asset: have knowledge of the PG software suite;
- Be dynamic and punctual;
- Demonstrate the following personal skills: a positive attitude, team spirit, discretion, interpersonal skills and a desire to work well;
- Respect the confidentiality of information received.
Any relevant combination of training and experience may also be considered.
What are your benefits?
Salary and benefits for the position are governed by the current collective agreement in effect, which is outlined below:
- Permanent, full-time position, 35 hours/week;
- Annual vacations according to the current collective agreement in effect;
- Schedule from Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m;
- 14 paid holidays per year and a bank of 10 sick days;
- Group insurance and generous 7%/7% pension benefits;
- Competitive hourly wage starting at $29.56.
