Weather watch – closed roads
Friday, November 1, 2019 at 3:30 pm
The Town of Sutton informs you that the following roads are partially or totally closed and will stay closed until further notice:
– Parmenter Road (in front of number 800);
-Mont Echo Road (in front of number 670);
Following the upcoming weather conditions, other streets could be partially or completely closed depending on flooding or the fall of some trees. Additional damage may occur. We encourage you to avoid approaching streams that are flooded and to securely fix or store your objects subject to fly away (carport, garbage can, etc.). Rest assure that the Town is currently executing its Emergency Measures Plan and that all our teams are deployed and on the look-out. The Town is also in contact with the government authorities, the Sûreté du Québec and Hydro-Québec.
9-1-1 waiting period
9-1-1 is receiving a lot of calls right now. Please use 9-1-1 only for safety-related calls (traffic congestion and subsidence, electrical wires, life at risk). For any material damage, please contact your insurer. Thank you for your collaboration.
Hydro-Québec informs us that the power failures will last at least 24 hours.
The John-Sleeth Center is closed until further notice due to wind damage. The organizations have been notified.
The Town reminds you to ensure that your culvert or culvert pipe are clear and not block. In addition, any construction or repair of your culvert or culvert pipe must be permitted to ensure compliance with the proposed work and to ensure proper widths.
Collection of organic materials
Given the circumstances, the Town informs you that the collection of organic materials may not take place on your street. Exceptionally, the collection will take place on the next scheduled date.
For a follow-up or more information, do not hesitate to follow us on our Facebook page and our website. City Hall will remain open up to 9:00 pm for information. For any emergency, contact 9-1-1.
