Share the harsh life of the township pioneers and the first French-Canadians as well as their hopes and deeds as they tame this enormous territory. Clearing the land all the way to urban and industrial development, not forgetting the business of copper. On the way you will come across some endearing characters who made their mark on 19<sup>th<\/sup> century Sutton. Your virtuel guide on this circuit is<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\">George C. Dyer, a prosperous local businessman!<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/image12_P-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"George C. Dyer\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Owner of a general store, postmaster, farmer and lieutenant-colonel in the local militia, George found himself at the forefront of Sutton\u2019s development throughout the 19th century. He is the ideal person to accompany you during your discovery of this slice of local history. Moreover, it is said that he was part of a group of local businessmen who lobbied the South Eastern Counties Railroad company to convince them that it was economically viable to have the train pass via the Sutton River valley. At the national level he was also assistant to the chief engineer who had the Chambly canal built. His son Eugene Alphonse and some of his grandsons, including Leon, were also involved in the local community\u2026and continue on through history much to our delight.<\/p>\n\t<p>It is possible to divide the circuit into four segments and follow each individually.
