Privileged cradle of Loyalists arriving from New England, the American and British influences remain in the region&#8217;s architecture. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chemindescantons.qc.ca\/index_en.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Townships Trail<\/a> takes you along a scenic route, framed and signposted by its distinctive sign, through the beautiful landscapes and villages of the Eastern Townships, of which Sutton is a proud member.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/MADA-Qc_CMYK_118.png\" alt=\"MADA-Qc_CMYK_118\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"118\" width=\"284\" title=\"MADA-Qc_CMYK_118\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t<h3>The Town of Sutton is recognized as a <em>Municipalit\u00e9 amie des a\u00een\u00e9s (MADA)<\/em><\/h3><p>The Town was proud to announce in July 2013 that Sutton received the <em>Municipalit\u00e9 amie des a\u00een\u00e9s (MADA) <\/em>; award in recognition of our efforts to make Sutton a senior-friendly town. This award highlights the quality of the measures taken by the Town to help seniors &#8220;age gracefully&#8221; while remaining active in their community. The MADA award is now recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/Sceau_MAE-square-d8411fdc11626eda5fa45ccd8bbd4c02-.png\" alt=\"Sceau_MAE\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"601\" width=\"601\" title=\"Sceau_MAE\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t<h3>The Town of Sutton is recognized as a <em>Child Friendly Municipality<\/em> (Municipalit\u00e9 amie des enfants)<\/h3><p>This prestigious international <a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/en\/the-town-of-sutton-is-recognized-as-a-child-friendly-city-municipalite-amie-des-enfants-mae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recognition<\/a> was awarded in November 2023 by the organization Espace MUNI in collaboration with UNICEF Canada, following a meticulous application and evaluation process. It commits the municipality to putting children at the heart of its concerns, and to continuing its actions to promote their well-being and development.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/logo_communaute_bleue.png\" alt=\"logo_communaute_bleue\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"1637\" width=\"1637\" title=\"logo_communaute_bleue\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t<h3>The Town of Sutton receives Blue Community certification<\/h3><p>The Town of Sutton has received in May 2023 <strong>Blue Community certification<\/strong>, demonstrating its renewed commitment to the protection of water and public access to safe drinking water. A Blue Community is a community that adopts a community framework to recognize water as a common good. The project is coordinated in Quebec by <a href=\"https:\/\/eausecours.org\/\">Eau Secours<\/a>. In 2023, Quebec alone will have more than 10% of the world&#8217;s Blue Communities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/reconnaissances\/LOGO_CARBO_EMISSION_ANG_COUL.png\" alt=\"Carbon Care Enviro-Access\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"650\" width=\"650\" title=\"Carbon Care Enviro-Access\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t<h3>The Town of Sutton is certified Carboresponsible by Enviro-acc\u00e8s<\/h3><p>The Carbon Care<sup>TM<\/sup> program recognizes organizations&#8217; efforts to responsibly manage and reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs). Through this certification obtained in 2013, Enviro-access confirms that the Town is sensitive to the problem of climate change and proactive in its emissions management.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Voiture-electrique_B.png\" alt=\"Bornes de recharge\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"305\" width=\"300\" title=\"Voiture-electrique_B\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t<h3>The Town of Sutton provides charging stations for electric vehicles<\/h3><p>The Town of Sutton is proud to offer its citizens and visitors the access to two charging terminals for electric vehicles (<em>Sun Country Highway for all VE (SCH100), 240v \/ 80A and HPWC Tesla for VE Tesla, 240v \/ 80A<\/em>). These are installed in the parking lot adjacent to the Town Hall located at 11 South Principale Street.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/velosympathique-bronze.jpg\" alt=\"Mouvement V\u00e9losympathique\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"243\" width=\"300\" title=\"velosympathique-bronze\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t<h3>The Town of Sutton received a bronze certification from V\u00e9lo Qu\u00e9bec as part of the Bicycle Friendly Movement<sup>tm<\/sup><\/h3><p>The Town of Sutton stands out because recreational bicycling is very popular over its territory. For several years now, the municipality has also encouraged more bicycle trips to its community by adopting the plan &#8220;My municipality on foot, by bike&#8221; and by installing numerous parking spaces for bicycles and by doing the snow removal of its bike path.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e9losympathique<sup>tm<\/sup> is a trademark of V\u00e9lo Qu\u00e9bec Association.
