Since June, the parents of the students concerned (five kindergarten students and one first-grade student) had mobilized, with the support of the community and Mayor Robert Beno\u00eet, to denounce this transfer, which would have forced these young children to spend about two hours a day on transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am really happy that a positive solution has been found,\u201d said the Mayor. \u201cThe Sutton community has shown tremendous solidarity, demonstrating once again its capacity for commitment. I would also like to highlight the openness and collaboration of Mr. Carl Morissette, Director General of the Val-des-Cerfs School Service Center, who quickly found a satisfactory solution while being open to evaluating the feasibility of innovative proposals. The Town of Sutton is pleased with the happy outcome of the situation caused by the announced transfer of Sutton students to Dunham Elementary School at the start of the next school year due to a lack of space.
