“I am extremely proud of the results of these elections, which above all demonstrate that the population has chosen continuity and stability in Sutton. On behalf of the entire group, I would like to thank all those who voted for us, as well as all the other voters who came to express their choice in a democratic manner. <\/p>\n\n\n
\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
The turnout (59.07%) is huge for the province! It testifies to our population’s great interest in public affairs. Your involvement in municipal and community life is extraordinary, and it’s what makes Sutton so lively and rich in activities of all kinds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the new council, we will continue to support the local organizations and initiatives that bring so much well-being to our community. We will continue the efforts we have undertaken over the past four years to strengthen our balanced budget, invest in our municipal infrastructure and consolidate our administrative team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the adoption of the Urban Plan, we will continue to revise the bylaws in a spirit of collaboration with residents. In this same spirit of continuity, we will be able to complete the projects that are close to our hearts, such as Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec, Calvary Church, the Filtex site, the John-Sleeth Cultural and Community Centre and the construction of affordable housing on Western Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In closing, I would like to congratulate all the candidates who stood for election. Their commitment and ideas have enriched the debate and we will take them into account, just as I welcome both new councillors Elyse Boulanger and Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Boucher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We look forward to seeing you at the first meeting of your new council on November 19!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the close of the general municipal election held on November 2, Mayor Robert Beno\u00eet was re-elected for a second term, the first time this has happened in Sutton in over 20 years.
