This funding comes from the Volet Soutien<\/em> of the Programme d’aide \u00e0 la voirie locale (PAVL)<\/em>, which assists municipalities in planning, improving and maintaining the road network infrastructures for which they are responsible and manage. In particular, the Volet Soutien<\/em> aims to improve pavement quality, drainage and road safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Necessary work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The culvert to be replaced is located at P\u00e9kan Falls, at the very top of Chemin R\u00e9al. Its replacement had long been planned by the Public Works and Fixed Assets Department, due to its age and the risk of collapse. With a smaller diameter than the one replaced lower down in 2024 (2.45 m vs. 3.6 m), but of the same depth, its refurbishment promises to be just as impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work is scheduled to take place between July and October of this year, taking into account the constraints associated with wildlife environment. It should last between 8 to10 weeks, depending on weather conditions. As the work site is located upstream of the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS) reception booth, where there are no more residences, it will not impede vehicular traffic. The Town, for its part, will be able to access its water filtration plant via the Mont Sutton trails. More news to follow!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
