Positioning your bin at the side of the road<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To keep our roads and streets clear of snow, it is essential that you place your bin inside the boundaries of your home, and not on the road<\/strong>, as shown in the photos.
If your bin is on the road, in the path of our snowploughs, it can be knocked over, especially at night and in the snow, when visibility is almost nil. These incidents are unintentional! If the driver has time to see a bin in the way, he will go around it, but he will lose time every time, and won’t be able to clear the snow properly. Thank you for thinking of our ploughmen, who are working particularly hard this winter to make our roads passable!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spacing around your bin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Too often, bins are too close together or to another object and the arm of the garbage truck can’t reach it: as stipulated in our by-laws, you must leave a space of at least 60 cm (2 ft.) around the bin to be collected<\/strong>. Otherwise, the bin will not be collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collecting your bin after collection<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Again because of snow removal issues and also for the sake of our streets’ aesthetics, we ask you to remove your bin from the roadside as soon as possible after collection and, in any case, before dark<\/strong> on collection day. It is your responsibility to respect these instructions. If you are not home on the day of, you should ask a neighbour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important information about recycling collection<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As you know, since January 2, the collection of recyclable materials has been handled by NRJ trucks, on behalf of the MRC. However, we have noticed that they are starting their rounds earlier, at 6 a.m. rather than 7 a.m. as for our own collections. We therefore ask you to place your blue bin no later than 6 a.m. on collection day<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, several people have complained that their blue bin is sometimes collected one or more days after the scheduled date, particularly in the Mountain and Glen Sutton sectors. The Town is fully aware of the situation and has asked the MRC to resolve the problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thank you for your invaluable cooperation and assure you that we will do our utmost to facilitate the collection of your residual materials.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
