Since July 8, the Brome-Missisquoi MRC and the Haute-Yamaska MRC, which were located in the Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie administrative region, are now part of the Estrie region, according to the announcement<\/a> (in French only) made by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Ms.\u00a0Andr\u00e9e Laforest, and the Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Estrie region, Mr.\u00a0Fran\u00e7ois Bonnardel.<\/p>\n

This administrative decision does not change anything in fact to our daily life in the town of Sutton. And we already were in the Estrie region in terms of health.<\/p>\n

The name may not be definitive, however, since the Table des\u00a0MRC de l\u2019Estrie has submitted a request to have the name changed to \u201cR\u00e9gion des Cantons-de-l\u2019Est\u201d (Eastern Townships Region). A regional public consultation will be conducted to survey public opinion.<\/p>\n
