To be registered on the electoral list for the ballot on November 7, 2021, these documents must be completed and returned to the returning officer, Me Jonathan Fortin (<a href=\"mailto:dir.greffe@sutton.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dir.greffe@sutton.ca<\/a>), <strong>before October 3, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have not received these documents, you can download them from the <a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/en\/municipal-council\/2021-municipal-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Town\u2019s website<\/a> (non-domicilied electors Section), or click on one of the links below depending on your situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a summary of the conditions for completing the appropriate document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application for registration on the list of electors<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The sole owners of an immovable or sole occupants of a business establishment<\/strong> who are not domiciled in the territory of the municipality or of the RCM can be entered on the list of electors for the general election if they meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>be 18 years of age on November 7, 2021:<\/li><li>be a natural person, a Canadian citizen, not be under curatorship on September 1, 2021 and, on that date, not have been convicted, over the last five years, of an offence that is a corrupt electoral practice:<\/li><li>be the sole owner of an immovable situated in the territory of the municipality or the MRC for at least 12 months on September 1, 2021:<\/li><li>have sent to the Town of Sutton, before October 3, 2021, an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/SMRC-9.2-Application-for-registration-on-the-list-of-electors-or-the-referendum-list-and-application-to-vote-by-mail.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>application for entry by the sole owner of an immovable or the sole occupant of a business establishment (non-domicilied)<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The undivided co-owners of an immovable or the co-occupants of a business establishment<\/strong> who are not domiciled in the territory of the municipality or of the MRC and who are not already entitled to be entered on the list of electors as the sole owner of an immovable or the sole occupant of a business establishment can be entered on the list of electors for the general election if they meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>be 18 years of age on November 7, 2021:<\/li><li>be a natural person, a Canadian citizen, not be under curatorship on September 1, 2021 and, on that date, not have been convicted, over the last five years, of an offence that is a corrupt electoral practice:<\/li><li>be the undivided co-owner of an immovable situated in the territory of the municipality or the MRC for at least 12 months on September 1, 2021:<\/li><li>have been designated by means of a power of attorney signed by the majority of the co-owners who are electors on September 1, 2021:<\/li><li>have sent to the Town of Sutton, before October 3, 2021, a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/SMRC-9.1-Power-of-attorney-for-registration-on-the-list-of-electors-or-the-referendum-list-and-application-to-vote-by-mail.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>power of attorney to designate the undivided co-owner of an immovable or the sole occupant of a business establishment (non-domicilied)<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Request for a postal vote<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents who are not domiciled can <strong>vote by post<\/strong>. To do this, they must send a written request to the returning officer <strong>no later than Wednesday, October 27<\/strong>, by completing section&nbsp;4 of the registration form for non-domiciled on the electoral list.
