Indeed, the director, who is passionate about history and natural environments, realized that the name \u201cYamaska Sud-Est River\u201d, which had been using in error, could not be applied to this watercourse. In agreement with the Commission de toponymie du Qu\u00e9bec, he quickly formed a local committee to find a new name for the stream: no less than nine people worked on the question, including members of the Comit\u00e9 de toponymie de Sutton, H\u00e9ritage Sutton, the Brome Lake Museum, the OBV Yamaska, the Brome-Missisquoi MRC and the Comit\u00e9 de sauvegarde du bassin versant du lac Davignon. They unanimously chose the name \u201cWestover\u201d, in recognition of the Westover family who have resided in Sutton since 1802, particularly on the banks of the brook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Westover Brook originates at Mont Gagnon in Sutton, flows through the hamlet of Sutton Junction, the Mansville area and then finally empties into the Yamaska Sud-Est River one kilometre downstream from Call\u2019s Mills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The twenty-four-minute documentary is the third in a series directed by \u00c9tienne Benoit on the tributaries of the Davignon Lake watershed. After one on Jackson Brook<\/a> and another on the Yamaska Sud-Est River<\/a>, a fourth documentary is in production on the North Branch Brook.
