{"id":67796,"date":"2023-08-31T15:37:01","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T19:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/?p=67796"},"modified":"2023-08-31T15:36:49","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T19:36:49","slug":"mountain-street-traffic-calming-measures-completed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/en\/mountain-street-traffic-calming-measures-completed\/","title":{"rendered":"Mountain Street: traffic calming measures completed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This week, the Town carried out the final traffic calming measures it had planned on Mountain Street to slow vehicle speeds, enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety, and improve residents&#8217; quality of life.<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"690\" src=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Photo-couverture-Mountain.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-67765\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Photo-couverture-Mountain.jpg 920w, https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Photo-couverture-Mountain-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Photo-couverture-Mountain-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>With a 30 km\/h speed limit for the entire street, the addition of a speed bump and several <a href=\"https:\/\/sutton.ca\/staging\/en\/bollards-with-childrens-silhouettes-to-reduce-speeding-in-the-village-of-sutton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bollards with children&#8217;s silhouettes <\/a>as deterrents, Mountain Street now has additional stops at the Mountain\/Seymour and Mountain\/Grenier intersections, so that these stops are now mandatory in all lanes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the Public Works and Fixed Assets Department applied the two missing white edge lines between Cimeti\u00e8re and Grenier Streets to delineate the outside of the lanes along the entire length of Mountain Street. And finally, a central yellow line &#8211; with no overtaking &#8211; was drawn from Cimeti\u00e8re Street to Billings Street.
