As part of its Printemps de l’architecture<\/mark><\/a> program, the Sutton Art School is currently exhibiting nine architectural proposals for housing in Sutton, designed by the non-profit organization L’Ensemble<\/em>. The exhibition is free and open Friday, Saturday and Sunday until May 31. How can we provide more housing while staying true to a village’s character?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Faced with the housing crisis and urban sprawl, the Ensemble’s architectural proposals invite the community to explore innovative solutions adapted to the villages of Quebec, of which Sutton has been chosen as the subject of study. The aim of these proposals is to serve as a starting point for imagining, together, the future of these territories, while preserving Quebec’s natural and built environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project, subsidized by Quebec’s Minist\u00e8re de l’\u00c9conomie, de l’Innovation et de l’\u00c9nergie, is led by the NPO L’Ensemble<\/em><\/strong><\/a> in collaboration with the Brome-Missisquoi MRC and the UNESCO Chair in Urban Landscape at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al. The organization’s goal is to promote the harmonious growth of Quebec’s cities, and contribute to the creation of affordable, quality community housing for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Town of Sutton has welcomed this initiative, which will contribute to the ongoing reflections on the development of our own village. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition program includes<\/strong> discussions with the architects during the exhibition tour,
workshops for children, a caf\u00e9 area, screenings and a public consultation on Sunday, May 18, at 1 p.m. bringing the community together to reflect collectively on these crucial issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
