Second free screening of Open Air Cinema on July 17
As announced on June 13, our free, family-friendly Open Air Cinema screenings are taking place this year at the Sutton School of Art, as part of its Nocturnes program. This second event, on Thursday, July 17, kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with a musical and creative welcome, followed by the presentation of two short films and the screening of the popular Quebec feature Mlle Bottine.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The Sutton School of Art is committed to celebrating home-grown talent, introducing visitors to the world of local cinema and showcasing original Quebec creations. The free family cinema evenings are made possible thanks to the mandate from the Town of Sutton and the collaboration with the Knowlton Film Festival.
6:30 p.m.: Doors open: explore your creativity in the Art Lab, get drinks from the refreshment bar, enjoy the music and visit the Plant Show.
8:00 p.m.: CTRL ALT DEL (FR, 5 min.), presented by the Maison des Jeunes de Sutton, teenagers from our community accompanied by visual artist Julie Lequin, the Town of Sutton and the Quebec government. A film to deconstruct social networks and represent their reality: welcome to the heads of teenagers!
8:15 p.m.: Balade sur la rivière Yamaska Sud-Est (FR, 33 minutes), a documentary by Étienne Benoit, preceded by an interview with Luc Desjarlais, author and fisherman.
Headlining film: Mlle Bottine
21 h : Mlle Bottine (FR, 1 h 59), feature film by Yan Lanouette Turgeon starring Marguerite Laurence and Antoine Bertrand. Philippe, an opera composer lacking inspiration, is forced to take in his niece Simone, a rebellious, eccentric orphan whose best friend is a skunk. The film is presented in its original French version with English subtitles.
