Green flashing light: give way to our firefighters!
In Sutton, our firefighters use their personal vehicles to get to the fire station. To make it easier to spot them when they are called out in an emergency, they now use a green flashing light: please give way to them when you see one!
This new equipment is a pilot project that allows our firefighters to let people know they are rushing to the fire station to respond to an emergency call. Their personal vehicle is not an official emergency vehicle, but when the green light flashes, it means that the firefighter on board must hurry.
⏱️ Every second counts!
The faster the firefighter arrives at the fire station, the faster and more effective the response.
What to do on the road if you see a vehicle with a green flashing light?
✅ Slow down,
✅ Give way as soon as it is safe,
✅ Don’t block the road or intersections.
Thank you for working with our firefighters 🚒
and contributing to the safety of the entire Sutton community! 💚
