Les Potagers des Nues Mains to Become a Solidarity Cooperative

Les Potagers des Nues Mains founder Yan Gordon begins a new chapter in his operation by transforming the farm into a cooperative. In partnership with Protecterre, he is setting up a Fiducie d’utilité sociale agroécologique (FUSA ) to protect farmland from speculation and ensure that it remains available for farming and community projects.

Securing access to land through a FUSA makes it easier for future farmers in Quebec to obtain land, while strengthening community initiatives. This approach offers many advantages: legal and operational flexibility, potential tax benefits, social and environmental benefits, and reduced financial pressure for new generations of farmers by enabling them to focus on production rather than debt.

Potagers des Nues Mains Plant Sale on Three Dates in May

The farm will also host on-site sales on May 23 and 30, at 2380 Alderbrooke Road.
