A Sutton volunteer is honoured!

The Town of Sutton is very proud to announce that Doris Mondor, a volunteer who has been involved in the community for many years, has been honoured as part of the 2025 Hommage bénévolat-Québec awards! Honorary certificate – Prix Hommage bénévolat-Québec 2025 This winter, the Recreation, Community Life and Culture Department officially recognized Doris Mondor ‘s involvement in our community by nominating her for the Hommage bénévolat-Québec 2025 award. Although her nomination was not selected for a final award, she is the proud recipient of an honorary certificate from the Quebec government thanking her for her commitment as a volunteer. Doris Mondor, a committed volunteer! From 2022 to 2024, Doris served as President of FADOQ Les Deux Monts. Her involvement enabled the organization to recruit new board members, add new activities to its programming and forge new partnerships. To this must be added 25 years of continuous volunteer work at the Sutton Municipal and School Library. Doris is co-founder of the book club, responsible for purchasing French-language books, scheduling and volunteer replacements. She is also a member of the library’s management committee. For the past 10 years, Doris has been part of a collective vegetable garden that brings together a dozen people. For the past 10 years, Doris has been involved in a cooperative for the exchange of services(Le SEL de la Terre), where she is recognized for her availability and open-mindedness. Doris also offers companionship to residents of the Centre d’hébergement du Foyer de Sutton. Her presence helps break the isolation of seniors. Doris…
