Call for nominations for the Environmental Advisory Committee and the Toponymy Committee
The Town of Sutton invites citizens wishing to become actively involved in municipal life to submit their candidacy for one of the two advisory committees whose seats are currently vacant, namely the Environmental Advisory Committee and the Toponymy Committee. Come and bring your ideas and enthusiasm!
Why get involved?
Participating in a committee offers you a great opportunity to actively contribute to the future of our community, to share your ideas, experience and expertise, and to take part in discussions that enrich the decisions of the municipal council.
As a member of an advisory committee, you will be called upon to :
- Contribute to municipal orientations and projects,
- Participate in constructive and collaborative exchanges,
- Share your ideas, experiences and expertise,
- Represent the interests and realities of Sutton’s citizens,
- Have a concrete impact on the living environment.
Committees are made up of volunteer citizens and member(s) of the municipal council. Each committee meets in person a few times a year, according to its mandate, at mutually convenient dates and times.
Committees for which we are currently recruiting :
Environmental Advisory Committee
At the request of the Council or the Administration, it submits opinions and recommendations on any environmental issue and on any file relating to the quality of the environment and environmental protection.

Toponymy Committee
At the Council’s request, it advises on all matters relating to the designation, modification, correction or replacement of existing place names (roads, streets, municipal buildings) in Sutton, and makes recommendations on toponymy while promoting Sutton’s history and identity.

- A letter of application outlining your interests, skills, experience or relevant training in the field in question, which will provide input for the committee’s discussions and work.
- Your curriculum vitae (optional but recommended);
- The committee you are applying for.
