Information sessions to encourage candidacies in upcoming municipal elections
– QUEBEC GOVERNMENT – As part of the Tu aimes ton coin, va plus loin campaign, which aims to get citizens interested in running for one of the 8,000 elected positions at the municipal level, the Québec government is announcing that it will be holding some sixty information sessions in the various regions of Quebec. Open to all These sessions, most of which will be held virtually, will provide an opportunity for those interested in running for office to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of elected officials, municipalities and municipal councils. The steps involved in running for office will also be discussed, and post-election support resources will be presented. It’s worth noting that some of these sessions will be specially designed for young people and women.
