Planning and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee
The mandate of the Planning and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee (PSDAC) is to guide and support the municipal council in matters of urban planning. PSDAC’s recommendations and advice provide the municipal council with feedback from elected officials and citizens, based on their experiences of life in the town and their specific concerns regarding land-use planning. Having a committee like PSDAC allows us to get citizens more involved in issues of urban planning.
The committee members make recommendations to the council with respect to applications for a:
- site planning and architectural integration plan (PIIA in French);
- minor exemption;
- conditional use;
- specific construction, alteration or occupancy proposal for an immovable (PPCMOI in French).
Committee composition
he committee is composed of eight (8) members appointed by the Municipal Council: two (2) members of the Municipal Council and six (6) citizens chosen from among the Town's residents who responded to a call for candidates, excluding any person whose usual professional activities would be likely to create a conflict with the interests of the Town.
Councilors Marie-José Auclair and Elyse Boulanger are the two council members currently appointed to the committee.
Members are appointed by the municipal council for a renewable term of two (2) years.

Demolition Committee
The Demolition Committee is responsible for making decisions on building-demolition requests.
The committee is governed by Bylaw No. 261, entitled Bylaw Relating to the Demolition of Buildings (in French only)..
It consists of three council members, appointed for one year by the council. Their term is renewable.
The committee is currently composed of the following municipal councillors: Marie-José Auclair, Daniel Martin et Frédéric Boucher.

Environmental Advisory Committee
The primary function of the Environmental Advisory Committee is to provide advice and recommendations to Municipal Council or the Town administration on any environmental issue, environmental quality and environmental protection, and to make any other recommendations to Municipal Council on environmental matters, at the specific request of Council or the Town administration. In accordance with this mandate, the Committee members study and make recommendations to Council on matters such as the protection of water, air, soil and biodiversity, drinking water management, conservation of natural environments, waste management, greenhouse gas reduction and adaptation to climate change.
The Committee shall report to Municipal Council. It shall have no decision-making authority.
Committee composition
The Committee is composed of nine (9) members appointed by the Municipal Council: three (3) members of the Municipal Council and six (6) citizens chosen from among the Town's residents who responded to a call for candidates and who have training or knowledge of the environment, excluding any person whose usual professional activities would be likely to create a conflict with the interests of the Town.
Councilors Marie-José Auclair, Carole Lebel and Alan Pavilanis are the three council members currently appointed to the committee.
Members are appointed by the municipal council for a renewable term of two (2) years.
The committee meets once every two (2) months in regular session. Optional working meetings are also organized as needed.
Environmental Advisory Committee Minutes of the Meetings
Quality of Life Advisory Committee
The primary function of the Quality of Life Advisory Committee is to provide advice and recommendations, at the specific request of Municipal Council or the Town administration, on any issue or matter relating to the quality of life in the community. In accordance with this mandate, the Committee members shall study and make recommendations to Council on such matters as nuisance abatement and the implementation of a participatory budget.
The Committee shall report to Municipal Council. It shall have no decision-making authority.

The Committee is composed of nine (9) members appointed by the Municipal Council: two (2) members of the Municipal Council and seven (7) citizens chosen from among the Town's residents who responded to a call for candidates, excluding any person whose usual professional activities would be likely to create a conflict with the interests of the Town.
Councilors Daniel Martin and Frédéric Boucher are the two council members currently appointed to the committee.
Members are appointed by the municipal council for a renewable term of two (2) years.
Quality of Life Advisory Committee Minutes of the Meetings
Advisory Committee on Sustainable Mobility
One of the committee's functions is to give advice and make recommendations, at the request of the municipal council or the municipal administration, on specific issues and files relating to sustainable mobility. In keeping with this function, and according to the mandate given, the committee members study and make recommendations to the council on issues such as active mobility, pedestrian and user safety, local traffic and public transit.
The committee reports to the city council. The Committee has no decision-making powers; its mandate is to provide advice, formulate opinions or make recommendations on matters submitted for consideration by the Council.
Committee composition
The Committee is composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Municipal Council: two (2) members of the Municipal Council and five (5) citizens chosen from among the Town's residents.
Councilors Elyse Boulanger and Daniel Martin are the two council members currently appointed to the committee.
Members are appointed by the municipal council for a renewable term of two (2) years.
Sustainable Mobility Advisory Committee Minutes of the Meetings
Toponymy Committee
The main function of the Toponymy Committee is to give its opinion, at the specific request of the Municipal Council or the municipal administration, on any question relating to the designation, modification, correction or replacement of existing place names in Sutton, for roads and streets as well as for municipal buildings and parks, and to make any other recommendation to the Municipal Council concerning the toponymy of the town.
The Committee shall report to Municipal Council. It shall have no decision-making authority.
Committee composition
The Committee is composed of five (5) members appointed by the Municipal Council: one (1) member of the Municipal Council and four (4) citizens chosen from among the Town's residents who responded to a call for candidates and who have training or knowledge in the fields of history, geography, culture and land-use planning, or in related fields, excluding any person whose usual professional activities would be likely to create a conflict with the interests of the Town.
Councillor Frédéric Boucher is the council member currently appointed to the committee.
Members are appointed by the municipal council for a renewable term of two (2) years.
Toponymy Committee Minutes of the Meetings
Family and Seniors Policy Follow-up Committee
The Town created a Family and Seniors Policy Follow-up Committee charged with drafting a work plan that includes a timetable and the action priorities identified in the Family and Seniors Policy action plan. The committee identifies partners who could be called upon for each priority action and develops ties with them. It makes sure that the actions put forward are consistent with the guidelines in the Family and Seniors Policy and proposes a realistic process for implementing actions.

The committee is currently made up of nine (9) members, including, the director general, the Recreational, Community Life and Culture Director as well as the Councillor responsible for Family and Seniors' Issues (RQFA), Elyse Boulanger.
