In preparation for the open house on the revision of the Urban By-Laws, this Thursday, April 23, between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., you can consult the documents that have been posted on the Dream Sutton website. Come and learn more about the current process!

As announced by Mayor Robert Benoît at the Council meeting of April 1, the Town of Sutton has been actively working on the revision of its Urban By-Laws since the new Urban Plan was adopted by Council in October 2025, and the Brome-Missisquoi MRC confirmed its conformity in January 2026.
By adopting the same approach of transparency and collective participation as for the revision of the Urban Plan, the Town wishes to give all citizens the opportunity to learn about the progress of the work on revising the By-Laws, to ask questions, to share their suggestions and to discuss the major regulatory themes that will shape the territory of Sutton for the coming years.
Open House Evening on April 23, 2026
The open house on April 23, 2026 will follow the same model as those organized for the revision of the Town Urban Plan:
- The “open house” formula means that you can arrive and leave at any time within the 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. time slot.
- Thematic stations will be led by the L’Arpent team and the Urban and Land-Use Planning Department: they will provide an opportunity to discuss the revision process and to exchange views on the regulatory proposals for the main development themes (village core and housing, landscapes and sectors of interest).
- The activity is designed to be open and friendly. You can move freely between stations and chat with the team at your own pace.
- The information gathered during the evening will feed into the discussions on updating the Town Urban By-Laws.
- A report on the open house will be published on the project’s web page, in Dream Sutton.
