Winter 2026 Activities at the Sutton Municipal and School Library

The Sutton Municipal and School Library is offering a new range of activities for winter 2026. Below is a brief description of the workshops, courses and conferences you can register for starting January 5, 2026.

Registration for activities on the AccèsCitéLoisirs online platform (see below) is compulsory, even if the activities are free. It helps track registrations and allows paying online when the activity is subject to a fee.

TIC (Computer Self-Help) Workshops, with Guy Gravel from Club FADOQ Les Deux Monts

This session of 6 workshops, organized by and for the club FADOQ Les Deux Monts, offers computer self-help. This personalized approach enables the facilitator to guide you according to your needs and computer-related questions.
Mondays, from January 12 to February 16, 2026, 2 to 4 p.m.: English-speaking session

Collage et Poésie (Collage and Poetry) Workshop, with Diane Lambin

Suttonnais artist Diane Lambin leads this workshop, during which participants will create small picture paintings accompanied by short texts with an artistic and poetic flavour.

Launch of Lu Emanuel’s book With Love, Tam

At once dark and luminous, this new novel by Sutton-born author Lu Emanuel tackles the will to live and the tendency to despair. It explores the price of love and the emptiness of a loveless life. Through a series of letters and e-mails, beginnings and endings are experienced and shared. Tam expresses his love in every word he writes to his new friend, Janice.

Parlons bois (Let’s Talk Wood) Conference and Demonstration with Martin Séguin

A passionate woodworker, Martin Séguin makes artistic and utilitarian pieces such as bowls, pepper mills, pens, rings and more. To do so, he uses a wood lathe and tools accessible to all. In this meeting, he will introduce you to his approach and passion for woodworking, while demonstrating the techniques he uses.

Ukulele Lessons, Level 1, with Agnès Boisvert

“Club Formula” Ukulele Meeting*, with Agnès Boisvert

The library becomes a meeting place to promote, share, exchange, play and sing with other ukulele players (soprano, concert, baritone, tenor, bass).

Nous sommes des montagnes (We are mountains) Conference, with Marie-Pier Desharnais

Marie-Pier Desharnais is the only person in Quebec to have reached the three highest peaks on the planet. Through her captivating stories and lessons learned at high altitude, she tackles universal themes such as resilience, surpassing oneself and human strength in the face of challenges.

Registration for activities must be done online on the AccèsCitéLoisirs platform, accessible on the Town’s website in Service à la population/Services aux résidents/Inscription aux activités de loisirs. The entire procedure is explained there, whether you already have an AccèsCitéLoisirs account or need to create one.

The Municipal and School Library will be CLOSED from December 22 to 26 inclusively and from December 29 to January 2 inclusively.

The Library will be OPEN on Saturdays, December 20 and 27, and on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
