Winter Pleasures 2026: look back on another very fun-filled edition!
Winter Pleasures was held from Friday February 13 to Sunday February 15. Once again this year, a particularly diverse program, great weather and a heavy blanket of snow allowed everyone to enjoy the joys of winter! Take a look at the photos from this fun-filled weekend.
An electrifying disco party on Friday
On Friday evening, February 13, the third annual Disco Skating Evening took place in a great atmosphere that delighted participants of all ages!
Colourful lights, installed along the ice path, made the scene festive and cheerful. Throughout the evening, over 150 people skated to the rhythm of classic disco songs played by DJ Pierre Ste-Marie.
Two artists from Productions Cirkaz also put on magical luminous performances bringing joy to everyone.
To keep warm, there was a free hot beverage stand. Hot chocolates, topped with marshmallows, candies and whipped cream were very popular! Adults could even add whiskey or maple cream to their drinks, sponsored by Ungava Spirits.

Earlier in the week, an intergenerational activity was also organized with FADOQ members and the Sutton School daycare service. Together, children and seniors made little wooden snowmen, which are on display and can be admired in the sports chalet for a few more weeks!

A fun Winter Fest on Saturday!
The following day, Saturday, February 14, the Winter Festwas held in Goyette-Hill Park.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sutton residents of all ages, as well as visitors on vacation in our Town, took part in a variety of activities. Some 500 people turned out to enjoy this festive afternoon.

As soon as the festivities opened, the ice path and skating rink were packed! After a session of free skating, hockey or snow scooter racing, participants could explore Goyette-Hill Park to discover the other sports, interactive and creative activities on offer:
- Introduction to snowskate, a sport that combines snowboarding and skateboarding, on the hill;
- Winter soccer with Soccer Sutton on the basketball court (kudos to their team of volunteers for the hard work of shovelling!);
- Axe throwing, crazy skis and giant Connect4 near the sports chalet;
- Introduction to Nordic walking with Coop Gym Santé Sutton;
- Lantern-making with the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS) for their Winter Lights event that evening on the Village-Mountain trail;
- Festive facepainting with the Sutton Volunteer Action Centre (CAB).

The atmosphere in the park was warm and energetic, thanks to the DJ who got everyone up and dancing.
A relaxation area with a fireplace and comfortable chairs provided a place to warm up while enjoying a mapple taffy , or a cup of hot chocolate or coffee (accompanied, for adults, by whiskey or maple cream sponsored by Ungava Spirits). CAB Sutton was also on site to serve a delicious and much-appreciated homemade soup, and Village Famille Sutton rounded things off with an excellent local herbal tea.

At 1:30 p.m., District 5 Councillor Frédéric Boucher took the floor to thank everyone for attending the event, and to announce the winners of the draw among participants in the Frosty Challenges Winter Quest that took place in Sutton between November 29 and February 1. An entertaining evening with Winter Lights!
Starting at 4:15 pm, the PENS organized an activity on the Village-Moutain trail to continue the winter celebration into the evening. Around thirty people of all ages gathered in the forest by lantern light to enjoy stories told by Arielle Prince-Ferron, accompanied by the music of André-Anne Roy. Wonderful cookies made by Jessica Martin and hot chocolate from L’Échappée belle were also available to warm up those present. The magic of the forest was on display… with a visit from four deers! It was a second edition as warm as it was unifying!

To round off the program, the Curling Club opened its doors on Sunday, February 15. Those wishing to discover this sport could do so free of charge, with all equipment provided, and with the advice of a coach. Some forty people were able to try out the sport!
