Day Camp and Pool Activities are over for the 2025 Season!

The Town of Sutton would like to warmly thank the counselors and lifeguards who provided day camp services and aquatic activities at the municipal pool throughout the summer!

Thanks to these wonderful teams and under the guidance of the Recreation, Community Life, and Culture Department, we were able to welcome a total of 100 children to the day camp and no fewer than 99 children and 72 adults to the aquatic activities.

A Well-Attended Day Camp

The day camp, held at Goyette-Hill Park, officially ended on Friday, August 15. It’s thanks to a complete team, composed of a coordinator, a head counselor, four counselors, and three assistant counselors, that the day camp was able to welcome up to 52 children per week!

Each week, the children had a schedule full of adventures: water slides, museum visits, art activities, obstacle courses – there was something for everyone! The summer concluded with a big party on Thursday, August 14, including face painting, inflatable games, and a hot dog and corn meal.

Popular Aquatic Activities

The aquatic team was also complete this summer: a coordinator, a head lifeguard and aquatic instructor, six lifeguards (three of whom are also aquatic instructors), and two assistant lifeguards ensured the provision of courses and pool supervision.

Thanks to them, 7 aquatic courses for adults, as well as 9 intensive courses and 15 regular courses for children were offered.

With safe swimming supervision as a priority, the team also organized activities as part of National Drowning Prevention Week, which took place from July 20 to 26. In addition to holding special activities with the day camp, the team prepared information booths on Safety in Residential and Open Water Pools and Supervising Children Around and In Water, as well as a Lifeguard for a Day exercise.

We also thank the children, parents, and participants in general for their trust and their great contribution to the success of this season!

With the aim of continuously improving our services, we invite you to send us your suggestions and comments by email to [email protected].
