Publication of the Town of Sutton’s 2024 financial statements

At its June 4 meeting, the municipal council adopted the financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2024.
The 2024 Financial Statement’s presentation of key facts is now available online on the Town’s website under the Citizen Services/Treasury/Financial Information/Financial Reports/2024 tab. You will also find the Mayor’s Report on the 2024 Financial Statements and the independent auditor’s report.
Here are the findings of the Mayor’s report:
- Revenues for 2024 rose to $16,359,108, an increase of 4.4% over the adopted budget.
- This increase was mainly due to higher-than-anticipated revenues: $405,076 in real estate transfer taxes, $77,064 in transfer revenues, and $109,290 in other interest income and services rendered.
- Expenses amounted to $16,201,931, down 2.6% on budget.
- Reconciling items for tax purposes total $1,310,678, leaving a surplus of $1,467,855 for fiscal 2024.
- Total reserves at December 31, 2024 amount to $3,154,675.
