The water source on Route 215 is temporarily closed
The water from the Route 215 spring has been found to contain manganese levels above the acceptable limit for consumption. As a result, the Town of Sutton has closed its water supply tap until further notice. You will therefore not be able to collect water there for the time being.
The Public Works and Fixed Assets Department today received the results of its latest drinking water compliance analysis at the Route 215 source: the manganese concentration there is 0.126 mg/L, which exceeds the 0.120 mg/L limit accepted by the Quebec government.
As a result, in accordance with protocol, the source will remain closed until at least two consecutive test results show compliance. For information, the water management team takes regular samples that are analyzed weekly.
Please note that this source is not connected to the municipal water system.
