Western Street reconstruction site – Work Info for the week of September 30, 2024

The Public Works and Fixed Assets Department would like to inform you of the work in progress scheduled for the upcoming week of September 30.

In the southern parking lot of Goyette Hill Park: closed September 28-29 weekend and for paving.

In the northern parking lot of Goyette Hill Park: two parking spaces will be reserved for the mobility-impaired only; the remainder will be reserved for Western Street residents until October 4.

Park users can continue to enter the park via the bike path.
The use of alternative parking is mandatory.

Phase 4:

  • Sidewalk and concrete curbs construction complete!
  • Concrete pouring to connect driveways to sidewalks and curbs completed!
  • Gravelling and final grading of Western Street completed!
  • Construction of crossing strips for pedestrian protection underway.
  • Planting of vegetation in south and north parking lots underway.
  • Paving of the intersection of Western Street and Route 215: expected to take 2 days;
  • Paving of rue Western: expected to take one to two days (exact date to be confirmed).
    • While the street is being paved, driveways will be inaccessible from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or later, depending on progress);
    • Progress of work site planned from Road 215 towards Principale Nord St.;
    • Please strictly follow site signage (flagmen and signs);
    • Residents will receive a notice in the form of a door hanger indicating the date by which their car must be moved.
    • The north parking lot will be reserved for Western Street residents affected by the work.

Restriction: During paving, local traffic only on Western Street. Detour via Pleasant St. (Route 215), Academy St., Principale Nord St., Woodard Rd. and Lefebvre Rd.

Work may be modified or cancelled due to operational constraints or weather conditions.
