Artists & Artisans Directory
The Town of Sutton is calling on artists and artisans who live in Sutton or in a town within the Brome-Missisquoi RCM to submit their portfolio so that a directory can be created. This directory will enable the Town to better identify local talent and foster collaboration with artists and artisans on future cultural and artistic projects.
Being part of our directory means being the first to hear about our specific project calls—such as the publication of photographs, the creation of visuals, banners, works of art, or other artistic projects—which allow us to showcase the artistic richness of our community.
Applications are accepted throughout the year.
This initiative is part of the Town of Sutton’s Cultural Policy and, more specifically, its 2025-2027 Action Plan, by addressing the following actions:
- 2.3.1: promote the visibility of artists and artisans and their creations;
- 2.3.3: promote existing resources offered to local artists and recognized cultural organizations.
Status and Artistic Discipline
We invite artists and artisans who are professionals or in the process of becoming professionals, as well as non-professionals, to submit their portfolio. In addition, all artistic disciplines are welcome: visual arts, performing arts, music, theater, illustration, graphic design, photography, film, literature, digital or multidisciplinary arts, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this directory of professional artists and artisans, the person must:
- Be a resident of Sutton, a municipality in the Brome-Missisquoi RCM, or have developed a significant artistic practice within the region;
- If the applicant is a professional, they must be recognized as such according to the definition in the Act Respecting the Professional Status of Artists in the Visual Arts, Film, Music, Literature, Crafts, and the Performing Arts of the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications (MCC)*;

*PLEASE NOTE: Artists and artisans who are in the process of becoming professional or who are non-professional may also apply;

An acknowledgment of receipt will be sent within 48 business hours after receiving the application.
PLEASE NOTE: The Town will use this directory to send out calls for applications for artistic and cultural projects. Being included in the directory does not automatically mean you will participate in these projects: you must submit an application if you are interested. Applications will be evaluated according to the established criteria.
