Deployment of optical fibre—update as of February 21, 2023

IHR Telecom has revised its deployment schedule of optical fibre in Brome-Missisquoi MRC.

Highlights include:

  • The delay in the delivery of certain pieces of equipment required for the lighting of the Bromont head-end has slowed down the commissioning of the head-end and the subsequent stages. This situation has forced us to push back the project completion target for this municipality to May.
  • The last addresses in Brigham and Cowansville will be supplied via this same head-end. This is why the objective has also been pushed back to May for these municipalities.
  • In Frelighsburg, the permanent addresses at 18 chemin de la chute have been added to the current deployment project. A timeline is forthcoming.
  • The increase in addresses served continues to grow in the Towns of:
    • Bromont: (+12%) for network availability in this municipality.
    • West Bolton: (+9%) which allows the completion of the project in progress for this municipality.
    • Sutton: (+5%) for the BPI project
    • Brome Lake: (+5%) which brings this municipality closer to the end of the project.
  • The number of doors served by the Brome-Missisquoi Connect to Innovate and Éclair II projects is now 11,449
  • An increase of 382 doors since the last update of the schedule.
