REMINDER – The Generations Party is this Saturday!

You are cordially invited to the Generations Party this Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Sutton School. This festive and unifying event is organized by the Table de développement des communautés de Sutton-Abercorn to bring together all our generations of citizens and celebrate the richness of our community.

Several activities have been prepared for you:

  • Free Spaghetti lunch: Come enjoy a delicious vegetarian spaghetti lunch and share a friendly moment with community members. The lunch, prepared by Racine pop, will include pasta cooked al dente, a rich and tasty tomato sauce and a crisp green salad. We will also provide coffee. If spaghetti doesn’t suit your diet, feel free to bring your own lunch to enjoy the day! We’ve provided picnic areas so you can eat in peace and enjoy the activities.
  • Trade Market: The trade market is a friendly, eco-friendly event that allows community members to trade goods and services without the need to use money. The goal is to promote the exchange of goods and skills, while reducing waste and environmental impact. You are invited to bring items you no longer need, such as clothes, books, toys, gardening tools or any other useful object in good condition. You can also offer skills in exchange for goods or services, for example, cooking lessons for fresh food or sewing in exchange for gardening help. The trade market is open to all members of the community, young and old.
  • Art lab: Express your creativity during the art lab by experimenting different artistic activities animated by the Sutton School of Art
  • Babygym : The little ones will be able to have fun in complete safety and discover new sensations during our babygym session offered by the Jardin d’enfants de Sutton in collaboration with the CAB Sutton.
  • Launch of the joëlette by PENS: Discover the joëlette, an all-terrain wheelchair allowing people with reduced mobility to practice hiking in the mountains. The Joëlette is a unique wheelchair, equipped with a single central wheel, two lateral stabilizing wheels, a safety harness and straps to hold the passenger in place.
  • Pumptrack: Come and challenge your friends on our pumptrack track. We will have self-service bikes available for the children. Thank you to Brunet Pharmacy for their donation to Sutton Elementary!
  • Slackline: Test your balance and agility on our slackline.

Join us for a memorable experience filled with the sweet melodies of our talented local musicians. The Generations party organizers aim to foster a sense of community by bringing together people from all walks of life. No registration is required, simply show up at the designated time and revel in the meal and engaging activities.

Even if it rains, the fun won’t stop! Our team has arranged for tents to provide shelter during the event, and there are covered areas for the spaghetti dinner and trade market.

We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible.

If you’d like to get involved and volunteer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing [email protected].

This day is organized by the Table de développement des communautés Sutton-Abercorn, which includes the following organizations: CAB Sutton, École Sutton Elementary, the school’s PPO, Club FADOQ Les Deux Monts, Racine Pop, Le SPOT, the Coop-gym, CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS and the Town of Sutton.

This activity is made possible thanks to many hours of volunteer work and funding from the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS (Pathfinders project) and the Réseau de développement Brome-Missisquoi funded by the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation.

The Sutton-Abercorn community development table is a place for exchange, partnership and consultation with a view to structured collective action by citizens and social actors on collective issues related to living conditions in their community. In concrete terms, these meetings allow for the exchange of information, the development of a common vision, the identification of perceived problems and solutions to be implemented together.
