A great program for the Generations Party on May 11!
The Sutton-Abercorn community development table is pleased to announce the Generations Party, which will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This festive event, taking place on the Sutton School grounds, aims to bring generations together and celebrate the richness and dynamism of our community.
On this day of celebration, a great program is planned:
Free cold meal
Come and enjoy a delicious cold lunch and share a convivial moment with members of the community. The lunch, prepared by volunteers and Racine pop, will include sandwiches and salads. A vegan and gluten-free option will also be on the menu! We’ve set up picnic areas so you can eat in a comfortable area and enjoy the activities. Feel free to bring your own lunch if you prefer!
In an effort to reduce waste, we invite you to bring your own dishes. If needed, compostable dishes will be for sale for $2 on site (cash only).
Trade market
The trade market is a convivial and ecological event that allows members of the community to trade goods and services without the need to use money. The aim is to encourage the exchange of goods and skills, while reducing waste and environmental impact.
The trade market is open to all members of the community. Come and exchange objects in good condition, or even services: cooking lessons for toys in good condition, gardening tools for clothes: anything is possible!

Lots of activities to get moving!
- Pumptrack : Come and challenge your friends on the pumptrack. Bikes will be available on loan for children.
- Slackline : Test your balance and agility on the slackline.
- Pickleball : Discover this growing sport and meet the Sutton Pickleball Club.
- Skateboard : Try out skateboarding or learn new tricks! Animators will be on site to offer advice. Prizes to be won!
- Baby gym : The little ones will be able to have fun in complete safety and discover new sensations during the baby gym session offered by the Jardin d’enfants de Sutton.
Want to let your creativity flow?
- Creative club : an activity organized by the Sutton School of Art. Take the opportunity to discover their spring-summer program at the same time.
- Collective artwork: everyone is invited to come and contribute to the collective artwork organized by Maison des jeunes Le Spot!
Entertainment all day long!
- Spend a relaxing moment listening to the music of local artists: discover Espace Sutton’s public piano, pieces by musicians from the Sutton Traditional Fiddle Festival, and enjoy a performance by SING! an intergenerational singing group.
- Storytelling: not to be missed, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.!
- Workshop to discover woven structures, tree debarking and Land Art with Jacob Brideau, eco-interpreter for the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (P.E.N.S.) Nature and Discovery program. Take the opportunity to meet the organization and learn more about their programs!
- Board games: a ludic area to play fun games in a festive atmosphere!
Come and meet your local organizations!
Numerous organizations offering services in Sutton will be on site to set up booths, host activities and present their services! Don’t miss this opportunity to meet and get to know them!
Should it rain, the event will be held indoors in the gymnasium.

This day is organized by the Sutton-Abercorn community development table, which includes the following partners: CAB Sutton, Sutton School, Sutton School PPO, Club FADOQ Les Deux Monts, Racine Pop, Maison des jeunes Le Spot, Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton, Jardin d’enfants de Sutton, Coop Gym Santé Sutton, CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS and the Town of Sutton.
This activity is made possible thanks to many hours of volunteer work and funding from the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS (“Éclaireurs” project) and the Réseau de développement Brome-Missisquoi funded by the Fondation Lucie et André Chagnon.
The Sutton-Abercorn community development table is a place for exchange, partnership and consultation with a view to structured collective action by citizens and social actors on collective issues related to living conditions in their community. In concrete terms, these meetings allow for the exchange of information, the development of a common vision, the identification of perceived problems and solutions to be implemented together.
