Here are the activities that can be enjoyed during the Fête nationale du Québec 2024 in Sutton!

We are proud to present the official program of activities for our big summer gathering. The event will take place on Monday, June 24 at the former Filtex site.

For the 3rd consecutive year, the Corporation de développement économique de Sutton (CDES), the cultural organization Sutton Encore and the team from the Recreation, Community Life and Cultural Services have worked together to make the Fête nationale du Québec 2024 a festive and unifying day.

The Filtex in festive family mode!

As announced in the news unveiling the event’s musical program, due to major construction work on Western Street, it will not be possible to hold the festivities in Goyette-Hill Park this year. So, exceptionally, the Fête nationale du Québec in Sutton will be held on the grounds of the former Filtex factory at 14, Dépôt Street.

We have made a number of adjustments to accommodate families:

  • picnic tables with umbrellas will be set up on site;
  • a drinking fountain with two troughs and two refill stations for reusable bottles;
  • several dry toilets, including two adapted for people with reduced mobility and families;
  • sinks for hand washing, etc.

There will also be activities for the whole family.

THE DAY’S PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES

Activities for the whole family:

  • from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., inflatable games set up for the occasion;
  • from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., face painting for children;
  • from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., a circus workshop by Damkko;
  • from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the velo-smoothie, where you can create a tasty fruity beverage, if you pedal hard enough.

This year, we’d like to spoil you with a few prizes to be drawn among ticket buyers! To be won :

  • 1 pair of tickets for Aliocha Schneider’s November 2 show at Salle Alec & Gérard Pelletier;
  • 1 pair of tickets for the VéloVolant at Au Diable Vert;
  • 2 pairs of tickets for Au Diable Vert river tube;
  • 2 season passes for the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS);
  • 1 pair of tickets for the Mont Sutton zip line.

Tickets will be on sale at the alcohol stand at $3 for 1 ticket and $5 (cash only) for 3 tickets. The draw will take place at 7:30 pm on the music stage.

At 5:30 p.m., you’ll be able to attend the flag-raising and official speeches by our guest of honour, Isabelle Charest, MNA for Brome-Missisquoi and Minister responsible for Sport, Recreation and Outdoors, the mayor and councillors.

Immediately following, the musical portion of the festivities begins: the Sutton Encore organization will present three concerts to liven up the evening:

  • from 6 to 6:30 p.m., opening acts Willy Lemaistre and Tristan Henderson;
  • from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., you’ll have the chance to dance to ALICE, Alice Tougas’ project;
  • from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the party’s in full swing with headliner Thierry Larose, sure to win your heart;
  • at 9:30 p.m., a fire and light show brings the festivities to a close!

We were unable to find an alternative launch site for our traditional fireworks show. We’re replacing them with a fire and light show, presented by Production Cirkaz. The artists on site at the Filtex will give you a 30-minute performance that will dazzle your senses.  Don’t worry, our fireworks will be back for the Fête nationale in 2025.

Food and beverages

This year’s new feature: street food trucks on site from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m..  Enjoy blooming onions, Oktoberfest and blue cotton candy from Mountain View, as well as mechoui poutine and baked potatoes with mechoui meat from Tente Méchoui & Plus.

You can quench your thirst with fresh lemonade from Mountain View, beers from Auberge Sutton Brouërie, unless you prefer a margarita from Le Gato or wine, white or red, from Vignoble Domaine Bresee. Important: you must pay cash, so bring some change!

Please note: the Town of Sutton is a certified Blue Community, which means that no plastic water bottles may be sold on the Fête nationale du Québec site. We therefore invite you to bring a reusable bottle to fill up at the on-site drinking water fountain.

Are you interested in volunteering for the event?

Like every year, we rely on the precious help of volunteers to make the day run smoothly. Do you enjoy meeting people and have a little time to offer? Fill in the form* to indicate your availability and preferences (setting up the site, welcoming visitors, accompanying the face painting and circus activities, flying volunteer, etc.). We’ll give you an event T-shirt and a meal.

*Note: you can change the language in the top right-hand corner of the form.

Thank you very much for your involvement!
