Mont Écho Closed: Safety Work Underway and Reminder of Best Practices

Following the fire that occurred last fall on Mont Écho, Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) and Les Sentiers de l’Estrie announce that their teams are continuing to assess the impacts and carry out the work necessary to secure the affected areas.

Mount Echo Trail Closed Until Further Notice

Over the next few weeks, safety and maintenance work will be carried out on the Mont Écho trail. The trail remains closed to the public, and its reopening will be announced only when conditions allow for safe access.

Safety Instructions

The Montagnes-Vertes Nature Reserve is home to exceptional biodiversity and particularly sensitive ecosystems. To help these ecosystems recover, visitors are asked to follow the guidelines in place.

  • Fires are strictly prohibited at all times throughout the nature reserve.
  • It is essential to stay on the marked trailsto minimize trampling of the vegetation and allow affected areas to regenerate naturally.
  • Camping is permitted only on sites authorized by Les Sentiers de l’Estrie, specifically at Singer Campground.

Any activity or behavior that could endanger public safety or harm the natural environment should be reported to the land manager, Les Sentiers de l’Estrie, at 819-864-6314.
