Public Hearing of the Commission municipale du Québec on the name change of the Estrie administrative region

A public consultation was held on the request to revise the name of the Estrie administrative region. Citizens were able to submit their opinions or briefs until February 4. All the points of view expressed can be found on the Commission municipale’s website.

The Commission today invites all citizens, public, associative and institutional organizations who would like to express their opinion at a public hearing, presided over by Alain R. Roy, Administrative Judge of the Commission, to do so on the following days:

  • Virtual: Wednesday, February 23, 2022
  • In attendance (subject to health measures in effect): 

Sherbrooke: March 14, 2022
Lac-Mégantic: March 17, 2022
Granby: March 22, 2022

Participation in any of these hearings, regardless of format, requires prior registration (reservation of a time slot). The participation of each speaker is 15 minutes (10 minutes to express his or her opinion and 5 minutes to exchange with the judge). All useful information is available on the Commission municipale’s website and will be constantly updated.
