Sports Facilities and Practices
Over the years, the Town of Sutton has improved its sports infrastructure by adding fields and equipment to meet the needs and demands of its residents. These facilities are used either for open practice or by sports organizations that manage activities and reserve the fields through the Town.
Goyette-Hill Park

Sutton Quebec J0E 2K0Goyette-Hill Park, set in an enchanting green setting, hosts most of the sports facilities, whose quality makes it one of the most beautiful municipal parks in the region.
Baseball - softball
The field, officially named “Pauline-Paul Softball Field” in 2023 in honor of one of our citizens, is typically reserved for softball from spring to fall, Monday to Friday evenings.
The field is lit and available outside reserved league hours for open practice, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, from May 1 to October 31.
Children’s softball league
- Tee-ball, 3 to 5 years
- Novice, 6 to 8 years
- Pee-wee, ages 9 to 12
- Bantam, ages 13 to 17
Games and practices take place at the Pauline-Paul softball field, in Goyette-Hill Park, from Monday to Wednesday in the evening.
Basketball
The Town of Sutton inaugurated its new basketball court in 2024.
The court is not lit. It is available for open practice from 7 a.m. until dusk, seven days a week, from May 1 to October 31. It is a full court, featuring a playing surface, two hoops, and player benches.
Hockey
Hockey players have access to a full hockey rink on a multifunctional concrete surface that is iced over in winter.
It is lit and features rink markings as well as hockey goals.
In summer, the schedule is shared with pickleball practice. Click here to view the shared schedule.

Splash Pad
The water play areas are located behind the sports chalet at Goyette-Hill Park. They are open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., from May through September.
Pickleball
The pickleball courts are lit and open from May 1 to October 31. . They are located on the multifunctional concrete surface of the Goyette-Hill Park ice rink. The schedule is shared with hockey based on reserved time slots.
The 4 courts are available for open play according to the following schedule:
- Monday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Wednesday and Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Club Pickleball Sutton
The Club Pickleball Sutton is a non-profit organization that organizes activities and leagues for its members.
In summer, members have access to reserved time slots on the multifunctional concrete surface of the Goyette-Hill Park ice rink.
In winter, the club reserves time slots at the Sutton School gymnasium for its members.

Municipal Swimming Pool
The municipal pool is public and open seven days a week from late June to mid-August, according to the aquatic activities program organized each summer by the Recreation, Community Life and Culture Department.

Skatepark
The skatepark is lit and available for open practice from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, from May 1 to October 31.
It features various concrete modules.
Soccer
There are two soccer fields:
- A large lit field that can be divided into two smaller fields
- A small unlit field
The soccer fields are generally reserved from spring to fall for the soccer league, Monday to Friday evenings.
Outside of league reservation hours, the soccer fields are available for open play from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, from May 1 to October 31.

Soccer for kids
- Recreational program for children aged 5 and 6
- Inter-municipal recreation program for children aged 7 to 14
Soccer for adults
- Local mixed senior soccer program for adults 21 and over. Matches take place on Tuesdays at the Goyette-Hill Park soccer fields.
- Recreational soccer for women 18 and over. No registration required, Friday evenings at 6 p.m., until the end of September.
Tennis
Both tennis courts are lit and open from May 1 to October 31, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Access to the fields is free.
Rules for Use of the Fields
Both tennis courts are accessible from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Playing time is 60 minutes and starts on the hour (e.g., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m.).
A player may continue their game after a playing period if no other player is waiting. If both courts are occupied, a player may wait until the start of a new playing period (e.g., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m.) to get a court.
To keep their place in line, players must remain near the courts until the start of the next playing period.
At all times, players must demonstrate good sportsmanship, politeness, and courtesy to avoid conflicts.
Periods reserved for doubles tennis
Since 2024, specific time slots have been reserved for doubles tennis.
Scheduled periods for Doubles Tennis:
- Monday and Wednesday: 1 to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday: 8 a.m. to noon
During these periods, both courts are reserved for doubles tennis.
These periods are open to everyone! There is no obligation to be part of a team to join the rotation: any player who shows up alone is welcome!
There are no set playing times during these periods: players take turns by including waiting players and rotating teams.
