Cushion Road has been reopened to traffic.

Recycling collection will take place on Friday, July 14, on Burnett, Cushion, Dufur and Smith Hill roads.

Burnett Road has been reopened to traffic.

Cushion Road remains closed until further notice.

Recycling collection will take place on Friday, July 14 on Burnett, Dufur and Smith Hill roads only. It has been postponed for Cushion Road.

UPDATE AT 4:45 P.M. (Tuesday, July 11)

Cushion and Burnett roads remain closed. The river is still at flood stage and we hope to see the beginning of a decrease overnight.

We reiterate our request to residents in the area to remain in their homes and, for their own safety, to stay away from the water.

Recycling collection scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, has been postponed to a later date on Burnett, Cushion, Dufur and Smith Hill roads.

INFORMATION TO TUESDAY MORNING, JULY 11

The Town of Sutton wishes to inform you that, due to the overflow of the Missisquoi River :

Cushion road, in Glen Sutton, is closed and flooded.

Burnett Road in Glen Sutton is closed and flooded.

Residents of these two roads, and those on Smith Hill, Dufur and Bridge roads, which are connected to them, are asked to stay at home and not to travel if possible. In case of emergency, please call 9-1-1. More news will follow the reopening of the roads.

The Sûreté du Québec and the ambulance service have been informed of these closures. Residents from this sector subscribing to CITAM mass alerts were notified personally.
