Great Activities Coming to the Municipal Pool for National Drowning Prevention Week
As proud ambassadors of drowning prevention, our dynamic team of lifeguards at the municipal pool have planned several activities during the week of July 19 to educate the public, including children, on pool safety.
Here is the schedule of activities:
With day camp children:
- Monday, July 19—morning
Scavenger hunt and banner with water safety themes
- Tuesday, July 20—afternoon
Obstacle course in the pool
- Friday, July 23—afternoon
Towing of children with rescue objects
With the public:
- Wednesday, July 21—3:15 to 4:15 p.m.
Swim to Survive test (tumbling, swim in place 1 min, 50 m swim)
- Friday, July 23—8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Lifeguard for a Day: participation in a training session for young people aged 12 and over who wish to become lifeguards
Registration required by filling out the online form
- Friday, July 23—3:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Information booth at the pool with a quiz
- Saturday, July 24—4:00 to 4:30 p.m.
