Journées de l’animation et de l’accompagnement: Thank you to our wonderful day camp team!

On the Journées de l'animation et de l'accompagnement (Animation and accompaniment days), taking place July 15 to 17, 2026, the Town of Sutton would like to recognize the excellent work of the day camp team and its remarkable commitment to providing children with a summer full of fun!

A full and highly motivated team is once again ensuring that the day camp runs smoothly this year: a coordinator, a lead counselor, four counselors, a shadow counselor, and two assistant counselors.

Thanks to them, the children enrolled in the municipal day camp (up to 52 children per week!) get to enjoy all kinds of adventures: outdoor activities, trips to water slides, sports, arts, and magic are all on the agenda!

The staff at the Town of Sutton’s municipal day camp is made up of caring, energetic, and highly skilled individuals. This dedicated team is committed to providing the day camp children with a memorable summer:

  • “Honestly, no two days are alike. We’re always on the move, laughing, and making memories. It never becomes routine.” Jujube (host)
  • “At camp, it ends up becoming a real close-knit group. You make friends, you work hard, but you have so much fun at the same time.” Pistache (counselor)
  • “There are days when I come home completely exhausted, but it’s the kind of tiredness that comes from having a really fun day.” King-Julian (head counselor)
  • “Kids remind you to enjoy the little things. You spend your summer playing outside, laughing, and living in the moment. It’s hard to ask for anything better!” Gecko (assistant counselor)

Journées de l’animation et de l’accompagnement (JDAA)

The JDAA were created to recognize the exceptional work of animation and accompaniment staff in Quebec and to highlight the significant contribution they make to the young people they interact with on a daily basis in recreational settings.

The JDAA is an initiative of the Conseil québécois du loisir, in collaboration with partners of the DAFA Program (Diplôme d’aptitude aux fonctions d’animateur) since 2014. All of our day camp team members are graduates of this national training program for camp counselors, which meets the high standards of the recreation and sports sector.

Even before the camp opened, our team underwent many hours of training and planning, all designed and led by the day camp coordinator, Ève Rompré. For us, it was essential to provide our team with the best possible preparation to ensure a safe, enriching, and fun-filled 2026 summer for the children.

To you, dear coordinator, counselors, assistant counselors and support staff, thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm in giving our young people an unforgettable summer! Keep up the great work!
