Let’s celebrate the Fête Nationale du Québec in Sutton!

PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release

Sutton, June 4, 2021 – After a year without festivities, the Town of Sutton is pleased to announce that it will be offering a variety of activities to its citizens in celebration of the Fête nationale du Québec on June 24.

Sutton’s Department of Recreation, Community Life and Culture is co-organizing several festivities with the Corporation de développement économique de Sutton (CDÉS), which will delight the young and the not so young. The numerous changes in health measures have not made the task easy and still leave some points to be clarified, but already an exciting program is in the works.

Based on the theme of “Vivre le Québec – Tissé serré!” (“Experience Quebec – Tightly woven!”) in honour of all Quebecers, our local fête nationale will take place in Goyette-Hill Park from 1:30 p.m. on the 24th well into the evening, ending with a fireworks display. Everyone in town is invited to take part in the activities, while observing the health regulations in effect. Activities include face painting for the children, participating in a collective work entitled “Tisse ton Sutton” (“Weave Your Sutton”), playing the Blue Muse discovery rally, listening to musical performances, and raising the flag accompanied by the Mayor’s speech. Details will be announced shortly on the Town’s website in the News at sutton.ca, and Facebook and Instagram pages.

The Town of Sutton and CDÉS would like to thank the sponsors of the event, particularly the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste Richelieu/Yamaska, the Fondation Boulanger-Bédard, IGA Sutton, Mont Sutton, Au Diable Vert and the P.E.N.S. as well as several private donors. They also acknowledge the generous support of local organizations such as Coeur du Village and Musique et traditions illimitées.
