Power outage situation – UPDATE at 10:30 a.m. (January 12)

The entire Sutton territory has power again. Hydro-Québec is preparing for tomorrow’s storm.

The situation :

  • All homes in Sutton have been reconnected;
  • In view of the new storm forecast for tomorrow, Hydro-Québec has stockpiled equipment (poles, conductors, crossarms) near Sutton to manage new risks and be ready to act quickly to restore Sutton substation in the event of a failure on the transmission line between Cowansville and Sutton;
  • We recommend that you take the necessary precautions to prepare for these new storms and be self-sufficient for 72 hours (see emergency kit below); make sure you clear as many branches or trees as possible near the poles; be careful not to touch the wires!
  • At a forthcoming council meeting, the Town will submit a list of recommendations to Hydro-Québec and to Ms. Isabelle Charest, MNA for Brome-Missisquoi and Minister responsible for Sport, Recreation and Outdoors;
  • A meeting is scheduled with Ms. Charest to review the list and outline the issues identified by the Town;
  • Keep up to date on our Facebook page and in the news section of our website!
  • For non-urgent special needs, call Town Hall at 450 538-2290.
  • For emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
