Programming for the Fête nationale du Québec 2022 in Sutton

Many of you have been waiting for it: the official program has been confirmed!

After the last two years of living far from each other, we are happy to inform you that this year, we will celebrate the Fête nationale du Québec in a big way! The Corporation de développement économique de Sutton (CDES) as well as the team of the Leisure, Community life and Culture Department have worked hard, in concert with Sutton’s cultural organizations, to make the Fête nationale du Québec 2022 a festive and unifying day.

The activities will take place on Friday, June 24, 2022, at different locations in our village.

In the heart of the village
Throughout the day, you can enjoy our tourist village and walk along one of our historical tours or our active circuits. The rural historical tour will allow you to learn more about the history, architecture and nature of the buildings in our village heart. The active circuits will have you walking through the town and discovering different views while activating your body. To access the itineraries of the tours, please come to the tourist office located at 24A Principale Street South where you will be given a map. To download audio guides for some of our historic tours, visit the Town’s website by clicking here.

At D’Arts et de rêves cultural park
Starting at 11 a.m., you can bring your picnic and take a fun tour of the park with Samantha la bouffonne. At 2 p.m., in the park’s agora, you will be treated to an intimate performance by the Almut Ellinghaus Jazz Quartet.

At Goyette Hill Park
At 10 a.m., Goyette-Hill Park will welcome young and old alike to participate in the famous Théâtre de la Dame de Coeur workshops: this beautiful creative activity, announced on June 3, will offer the opportunity to manipulate giant puppets for a festive parade in the park. You have until June 17th to enter the contest and win your place in one of these unique workshops: click here.

In the afternoon, inflatable games installed for the occasion, water games and the pool will welcome all visitors. Fancy makeup will be on hand to help children put on their best face and let off their crazy!

At 5:00 p.m., come and watch the flag raising and the official speeches with the Mayor and a guest of honour.

The musical part will start at 6 p.m.: the Sutton Encore organization will present three concerts that will liven up the evening! As the first part of the program, Agnès Boisvert will stimulate your senses, before the group Les Dindons d’trécarré warms your body. Then, the party will be in full swing with Alex Burger, the headliner of the evening who will conquer your heart.

The evening will conclude with fireworks that will light up the sky of our town and will delight the fans.
