The Fête nationale du Québec in Sutton: a great success!

You were at the rendezvous of our festivities of the Fête nationale du Québec 2022 with your smiles, your energy and your participation! Nearly 400 people gathered, throughout this sunny day, to take part in the proposed activities.

At the D’Arts et de rêves cultural park, about forty people took a guided tour with Samantha la Bouffonne and attended the jazz concert by the Almut Ellinghaus Quartet. During this time, nearly 15 families had the chance to participate in two workshops on handling giant puppets, led by professionals from the Théâtre de la Dame de Coeur who then strolled through the park with larger-than-life puppets to impress visitors: a tree, two ants and a couple of fish.

The inflatable games, water games, face painter and the municipal pool were busy all afternoon! A smoothie-bike animated by our volunteers delighted young and old with its refreshing juices. The visitors were able to satisfy their thirst and their hunger with the kiosks of the Auberge Sutton Brouërie, the Domaine Girouard, Chic Choc and the Cabane à Chichis, as well as the Resto Route 139 present on the spot within the framework of the annual baseball tournament of the Opti-ski organization.

Ceremonial and musical

The raising of the flag and the speeches of our honorary president, Mrs. Isabelle Charest, MNA for Brome-Missisquoi, Minister for Education and Minister responsible for the Status of Women, as well as the mayor of Sutton, Mr. Robert Benoît, kicked off the celebrations whose theme was “Our language with a thousand accents”. Your voice and your hearts were then united to the music of Agnès Boisvert, the Dindons d’trécarré and Alex Burger, headliner of the evening, who made you dance. Finally, magnificent fireworks came to close this day,
