Tour of municipal aerated ponds – Tuesday, September 12 at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.

Exceptionally, the Public Works and Fixed Assets Department will be offering a supervised tour of the aerated ponds, which are normally closed to the public. Aerated ponds are huge basins in which wastewater from the municipal sewer system is filtered. The site is astonishingly beautiful, and a delight for many birds!

Three bilingual tours, each lasting around 20 minutes, are scheduled for the morning of September 12, at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. They will be guided by our Water Management Foreman, Guy Gautier, for whom these basins hold no secrets. A maximum of 15 people per tour will be allowed: registration is required by filling in the online form (English version is available by clicking in the upper right corner) before midnight on September 10. First registered, first served!

The Municipality Week, a Quebec-wide event

Created in 1988, the Semaine de la municipalité (Municipality Week) is celebrated during the second full week of September. It helps raise awareness among Quebecers of the importance of civic involvement. Citizen participation is essential to the development and vitality of every municipality. By highlighting the services offered by municipalities, boroughs, regional county municipalities (RCMs) and the Kativik Regional Government (KRG), it helps to bring people closer to “their” municipal administration.
