Notice to the public – Urban and Land-Use Planning Department

The Town of Sutton wishes to inform its citizens that its Urban and Land-Use Planning Department is currently facing an exceptional workload due to a temporary staff shortage and the major revision of urban by-laws currently underway. This situation is causing longer-than-usual delays, and we ask for your understanding and cooperation!

Priority treatments

For several months now, the team is under a lot of pressure and needs to set priorities. Processing permit and certificate applications remains at the core of its operations and currently consumes the majority of its resources in order to meet the legal obligations associated with these cases. As a result, the processing of certain requests for information, follow-up, or assistance may be delayed.

We therefore ask you to give priority to the most urgent requests, and to submit complete files to facilitate processing.

At the same time, we are allocating additional resources to handle the pre-consultation period for the Draft By-Laws currently under review, which runs through June 18.

Patience and courtesy

We are aware of the inconvenience caused. Steps are being taken to improve the situation and gradually restore an optimum level of service.

While we wait for our urban team to get back to normal – continuing its work with the same dedication and professionalism – we are counting on your patience and courtesy to get us through this ever-busier summer period.

Thank you for your invaluable collaboration!
