Deployment of optical fibre—update as of November 15, 2021

IHR Télécom has released its latest update.

Here are the advances highlighted by IHR with its November calendar update:

  • In Dunham, the high speed Internet network is now available at 56 additional doors;
  • Permit applications in this municipality have just jumped by 10% which will allow IHR to continue to build considerably;
  • Numerous teams are working in parallel in all municipalities to deliver the service in the shortest possible time. Phases that are not yet completed have been changed to “In Progress”;
  • Crews have begun the construction of demarcation boxes in West Bolton and in Brome Lake. This step must be done in each household that is on the deployment plan. This is crucial to provide access to high-speed Internet service at the address in question. Please note that households that have expressed an interest in obtaining IHR Telecom services through customer service or the website are prioritized.
  • The construction of the network has progressed by 12% on the Sutton side and the permit requests received have increased by 10% in the last month;
  • The total number of doors is now 4837;
  • An increase of 105 doors is to be reported since the last update of the calendar.

NOTE: With the cold weather approaching, IHR Telecom is prioritizing weather dependent construction steps: underground construction, head-end installation, preparatory pruning, installation of large fiber optic gauges, etc.

Please note that the progress of these construction steps is not reflected in the percentages in column #5 since construction is only partial in many locations.

This work methodology will pay off in the long run. The prioritization of these construction phases at this time will allow for a steady pace of construction this winter.
